Why choose acrylic instead of glass for transparent swimming pool?

Acrylic is made by polymerization of methyl methacrylate monomer (MMA), namely polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) sheet acrylic. The acrylic processed by a special process has the reputation of "Plastic Queen" and "Plastic Crystal" , Acrylic’s physical properties determine the base as the best choice for transparent swimming pool materials.
1. It has all the advantages of glass:
Acrylic is a high-molecular polymer that has all the advantages of glass and can replace glass; while the main component of glass is silica, it cannot replace acrylic.
2. Better visual effects:
Acrylic has high light transmittance, with a light transmittance of 93% and above, while glass has a light transmittance of 82%-89%, and the best ultra-white glass can only reach 89%. Acrylic light transmission is soft, and the visual effect is more gorgeous;
3. Safe and secure:
The impact resistance of acrylic is more than 100 times that of ordinary glass and 16 times that of tempered glass (tempered glass has a risk of self-explosion). The maximum thickness of common tempered glass does not exceed 20mm, while the thickness of acrylic can be more than 800mm. Acrylic can withstand heavier and greater impact, but tempered glass cannot.
4. Can be seamlessly spliced:

Acrylic has good processing properties and can be machined and thermoformed. More importantly, the seamless splicing between the acrylic thick plates can be achieved on-site by injecting special formula stock solution. The tempered glass cannot be reprocessed, cut and spliced. Generally, the maximum size of tempered glass can be 6.8m*2.5m. Because it cannot be seamlessly spliced, it cannot meet the requirements of larger-size transparent whole panels, which can be achieved by acrylic.
